BOND Breaks Ground at Bridgewater State

Bridgewater, Mass – BOND executives and project management team, along with students, faculty and staff from Bridgewater State University celebrated the official groundbreaking of the school’s new $47 million residence hall. BOND, construction management firm based in Everett MA, is providing preconstruction and construction management services for the 500-bed residence hall.

BOND, construction management firm based in Everett MA, is providing preconstruction and construction management services for the 500-bed residence hall.

“We understand the significance of this project and we are honored to be given this opportunity. This ground breaking brings us one step closer to delivering a state-of-the-art facility which will enrich the University experience for BSU students said Bob Murray, President of BOND.

The facility is to be built in the midst of this active campus with the challenge of a an abutting MBTA Commuter Rail line that runs adjacent to the residence hall site. Overlooking the neighboring courtyard, the 159,000 sf project is anticipated to achieve LEED silver certification. The facility is scheduled for completion in time for the 2013 academic year.

Bridgewater State University is one of America’s first teacher preparation institutions. The new 500 bed suite style residence hall will include four and six bedroom suites with living/learning units and as well as a Health & Counseling Center. The design of living suites combined with learning units, will provide for a environment of social interaction combined with a learning experience as well as a sense of community.

With the addition of the BSU project, BOND has more than $220 million in construction now underway on the campuses of: Boston University, Fitchburg State University and Harvard Business School.
