BOMA Honors Thomas Coates

Stoneham, MA – Thomas Coates, regional director of asset services at Building Technology Engineers (BTE), has been named the 2011 Executive Engineer of the Year by the Boston Chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

Stoneham, MA – Thomas Coates, regional director of asset services at Building Technology Engineers (BTE), has been named the 2011 Executive Engineer of the Year by the Boston Chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). This honor was part of the annual BOMA Awards program, which recognizes the best buildings and real estate managers and service providers in the Greater Boston area.
“Tom Coates has been involved in virtually every area of the BTE business for the past two decades and is an integral part of our team,” stated Jim Lane, Regional Vice President of BTE.
Coates oversees and supports preventive maintenance programs for over 30,000,000sf of critical environments and commercial office buildings. He has been in the forefront of a number of important sustainability initiatives, managing the LEED application process for several buildings and implementing a LEED training program for BTE staff and clients.
He has been a strong supporter of BOMA Boston, sitting on the organization’s board, serving as chair of its engineering committee and serving as an instructor for engineering courses.
