BOMA Awards Announced

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Boston—BOMA Boston (a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board)—which represents over 100 million square feet of commercial real estate space in downtown and suburban Boston, hosted its annual BOMA Boston TOBY and Industry Awards on Thursday, November 18th at the Boston Sheraton Hotel.

The BOMA Boston The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards recognize excellence in building operation and property management. Eleven commercial real estate properties took home TOBY Awards. Nine individuals and companies were honored for their commitment to BOMA Boston and to the real estate industry. Four hundred and fifty people were in attendance to celebrate the accomplishments.

“Twenty much-deserved awards were given out on November 18th, and BOMA Boston is proud to recognize the outstanding individuals and companies who contribute to the success of commercial real estate in the Greater Boston region,” said BOMA Boston Executive Director Christine O’Donnell.

The list of winners includes the 2010 BOMA Boston TOBY Laboratory Building Award, the first award in this newly created category for the local level of competition. This award went to 250 Massachusetts Avenue, which is owned by Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research and managed by Jones Lang LaSalle. BOMA Boston also awarded Dennis Callahan of Colliers Meredith & Grew with the BOMA Boston Executive of the Year Award, and James “Zeke” Sawayer of CB Richard Ellis – New England with the new Executive Engineer of the Year award.
