Meriden, CT – BL Companies, a multi-disciplinary architecture, engineering and environmental firm, donated one TON of food (2,000 pounds) to local food banks demonstrating our commitment to the communities we serve.
“BL Companies’ generous donation of more than 2,000 pounds of food helps our network of soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters continue to meet increasing demand during the holiday season,” said Connecticut Food Bank President & CEO Nancy L. Carrington. “It is through this generosity that we continue our work to alleviate hunger for the thousands of families in Connecticut who struggle to keep food on the table each and every day.”
For our 2011 Charity Challenge, BL Companies employees split up into eight teams, developed team names, and strategized over what to bring … the competition was on! Thirteen days later, more than one ton of food was collected with the winning team, The Fat Belly Brigade, bringing in 497 pounds of food.
The Meriden office donations headed to the Connecticut Food Bank in East Haven, CT with the Hartford office donations going to the Food Share program in Hartford, CT.
“BL employees are known for their generosity and we have a rich history of giving back to the communities in which we work and live”, says Carolyn Stanworth, President and CEO.
