Wellesley, MA. AGC of Massachusetts has scheduled two, one-day classes on the EPA’s RRP rule, 40 CFR Part 745, which went into effect on April 22, 2010. The law requires that renovations performed for compensation on pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and schools must be done by EPA Certified Firms using Certified Renovators. Federal law now requires contractors be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. The law also includes landlords and property managers.
The 8-hour AGC class explains how to comply with the rule, covering concerns about lead paint, new regulations, job preparation, dust containment, cleaning and recordkeeping. At the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion. The firm may then apply to the EPA for final certification. Applications for EPA certification will be included in your materials.
The classes will be held on June 29 & again on July 13 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Class size is limited to 18 per class. Continental breakfast and buffet lunch are included along with all necessary materials for the course. Cost for the program is $250.00 per person and will be held at the AGC Conference Center.
