ABA Designs Cornell U Reno

Ithaca, NY – Cornell Law School’s three collegiate gothic buildings include its landmark library and moot court, law clinics, and instructional, faculty and staff spaces. Ann Beha Architects (ABA) identified a series of compelling opportunities to support and advance the Law School’s academic agenda.
Central to the plan is the sustainable re-purposing of existing buildings, and the preservation of the Law School’s historic resources and unique landscape.

ABA has designed a three-phase approach for the renovation and expansion of the Law School, preserving greenspace and strengthening campus pathways with carefully considered architectural and landscape initiatives. Phase I, currently under construction, includes a new entry and lobby on College Avenue, and a new below-grade Academic Center accommodating three tiered classrooms, gathering and break out spaces. Future phases include the reconfiguration of the Law Library to accommodate instructional, gathering and student life spaces.
Phase I is designed to achieve LEED Gold, and will meet the University’s criteria for sustainable annual energy use.
