Hampton, NH – Hampton fire-rescue personnel have moved into two fire stations recently completed by Eckman Construction. The expanded station on Winnacunnet Rd is now home to the dispatch center and admistration staff, and anew station serves the beach area. Work on both stations began in December
Station #1, on Brown Avenue across from the Police Station, is a new 11,000sf facility, with four apparatus bays and offices on the main floor. Upstairs are a Beach Precinct meeting room, bunkrooms, and a day room with a kitchen. Firefighters on the second floor use the new station’s fire pole to quickly respond to emergency calls. The existing station on Ashworth Avenue is empty now that the new station is in use, and will soon be demolished.
Station #2 on Winnacunnet Road has two additional bays, and new offices, a meeting/ training room, and a day room and kitchen. A new modern dispatch center looks out on the street. Administrative functions and central dispatch were relocated there from the old beach station. Existing areas of the station originally built in the 1970’s have been renovated. It remained in use throughout the expansion and renovation.
The stations were designed by Cowan Goudreau Architects of Concord.
